It's been my experience that single mothers- and especially abused or traumatized single mothers-  are one of the most overlooked populations when it comes to understanding and providing the support that they actually need most.

And of course, when mothers are deprived, it shows up in their children and can carry through long stretches of lineage, rippling throughout society.
